Congratulations to all teams

Well done to all teams and competitors who completed in the Gold Coast Cup 2009.

The race was held in near perfect conditions with a great field in most categories. A big thanks to those who supported our 13th event, either as competitors, support crew, boat crew, event sponsors and especially the Northcliffe Outrigger Canoe Club members and committee who pulled together to make sure everything ran well in the lead up to the big day.

A special congratulations to the race winners and to those who walked away with one of our fabulous random draw prizes. A big thank you again to the sponsors who were so generous with their prize donations.

AP and Pete have already had many calls of thanks and praise for the event and we look forward to taking on board all of the positives and feedback from the day to ensure that the Gold Coast Cup 2010 is even bigger and better. Most importantly, we look forward to see you all back next year ... until then, stay fit and paddle hard.

The results for the 2009 Golg Coast Cup can be found by clicking here.

Should you have any awesome photos of the event that you would like to share, we will shortly be putting together a gallery on the website. Please email you pics to grant@eastcoastcarrentals.com.au

IMPORTANT - All crews and clubs

There have been a few last minute changes. In order to provide safer conditions in what is expected to be a fairly large swell, the canoes will now 'push off' from Kirra Beach (as opposed to Coolangatta Beach)

The Friday and Saturday night briefings will now be held at the NORTH Kirra Surf Life Saving Club. Hot and cold drinks will be available for purchase from the club at these times.

Any questions or concerns, please contact the Race Director.
